What you describe is pretty close to ‘The Male Gaze’, which is arguably a vestigial social behavior from when it was still normalized for guys to literally stalk potential partners.

I think it already is and has been for a while, though I agree that it’s not really great because it puts people down for being straight and doesn’t address the real issue, which is people being bigoted and queerphobic. Not people being straight.
