As an older gen Z myself I get it. I’ve run into it a few times, and it is really frustrating sometimes. For example I did an online order for some food, and when I get there they say they’re out and just stare at me. Basically every step of the encounter I, as the customer, had to figure out what to do. There was absolutely no attempt by them to resolve it. That shouldn’t be my burden. I don’t even think it’s fully a generational thing. I do partially blame the corporations. They have created a system where it’s very difficult for the individual employees to do anything. Instead they prefer you to have to deal with an online chat bot that isn’t helpful so they can keep your money.
That being said, many people complain about this during simple interactions. I don’t need a full conversation every time I checkout.
