You can set it up to compile all your software yourself with the exact options you want, just like Gentoo. Not how most people use it, but still, NixOS can fulfill some of the same roles as Gentoo, they are very comparable.

It sounds like a cool distro but I don’t see any advantages compared to NixOS, aside from maybe the option to make it more minimal for constrained environments.

The only games in my library that don’t work are entirely the publisher’s fault for blacklisting Linux in their anticheat, and it’s very few games even then.
I’ve heard Flatpaks aren’t great at CLI tools, is that true ?
As a Nix user, I’m glad Flatpaks exist for other people, but I only ever use them when a package is not available from Nix directly. Seeing as Nix is literally the biggest package manager out there, it’s a pretty rare occurrence.
