  • It’s not that paying for things is bad. The problem is that good software is vital to digital artists’ income, and both purchasing and learning that software is a substantial investment. When a company sells or otherwise enshittifies their software, the artist is then put in a very hard place. Open-source software is the only way to combat that unfortunately likely scenario. By all means, please pay for that software if you can afford to. Doing so subsidizes usage for less fortunate people who may be able to better their situation as a direct result of your generosity.

The edge you’re taking about is normal for a decorative blade. It’s not good enough to be a real weapon or tool, but too dangerous to be played around with. The “zombie knives” being used by kids in the UK are real blades. The sites I’ve seen use it as a selling point that they aren’t just for show. They’re sharp enough for a kid to stab another through the chest.

e: Generally also the build quality of decorative blades is very poor, because they’re for decoration. The blade snapping or coming out of the handle altogether and then flying unexpectedly is often how one becomes injured with them accidentally, trying to make a cool video cutting up cardboard or whatever. They’re not practical for any purpose other than as decor.

This ban is in response to a large number of teenagers harming and killing each other with mall ninja shit in the UK. It’s been legal for adults to purchase and own them in their own homes, but the sellers have not been diligent, so children are buying them anyway, hence the ban.

Look up “zombie knife” if you want visual examples, but know that generally the blades are real and not blunt for decoration as a reasonable person might expect.

The ban doesn’t apply to historical items (which these are not) or legitimate uses (of which these have none).

  • Children regularly walk around unattended in Sweden, and they all cus constantly as well. You hear scary evil songs like WAP playing wherever because nobody gives a shit. I think the reason they’re safe is a mix of healthcare access and other welfare programs, weapon control, and sexual education.

I think the worst thing for kids here right now is nicotine addiction because disposable vapes are very popular with teens. And, you know, also the fact that the far right is eroding their rights and defunding said social programs.

The concept of butch/femme or masc/femme refers to how one presents themselves with regard to male/female gender norms. Things like makeup, heels, and pink are femme, while very short haircuts and sturdy work clothes are butch or masc.

Panel 1: That person is butch.

Panel 3: I will attempt to woo them.

Panel 4: Are you a butch person interested in sexual and/or romantic relations with another butch person?

I feel like I hear about Chicago a lot in terms of LGBT rights, like it’s one of those oases of human decency you can find in the US. A brief Google seems to indicate they have a quality school meal system as well.

  • What is this actually saying? I feel like most of the helpful things I can think of are external.

    • medication
    • therapy
    • healthy relationships
    • proper nutrition
    • sunlight and/or plants
    • hobbies and/or fulfilling work

    Is exercise internal??

I can see some kinds of therapy being considered internal because that’s where the work is getting done, but the instructions are given to you by an outside source.
