Ran Ubuntu and Ubuntu server first then switched to desktop fedora and liked it so I switched all my servers to fedora. Tried TrueNas Scale in the past and disliked it except for SMB shares. Also have an unraid server but hate it.

I guess I’m pretty superficial about just liking the base fedora DE. Idk beyond that.

I’d say Fedora is one of the best distros even the founder of Linux uses it. It’s FOSS like all of Linux, people can see if there’s an issue. Ubuntu has made a lot of decisions recently such as pushing snaps that people dislike. Most big name distros are connected to corporate funding, that’s how they continue to be maintained. Finally, Canonical being British owned certainly doesn’t make it better, possibly worse privacy wise.

Edit: conflating big American tech firms that steal your data with big America tech firms that make FOSS is just silly.

Choosing Ubuntu over Fedora because of American ties is rich

Everything except for games with kernel level anti cheat work. I mostly play warthunder though

I really think the district does not matter, but for some reason really matters to those who haven’t tried yet or are in a Linux cult, ie Arch or Gentoo. I’m on fedora and it’s great :) I used to run Ubuntu on my servers and it worked well too. Now I run fedora on everything because it’s easy. I game a lot and have zero issues
