The issue with that is it would create a very large lever arm (not really a lever arm, but it’s the closest way I have to describe it) with the buoyancy force of the neck disappearing unless the neck is placed in the water, and if the giraffe is holding it’s head up higher, the angle necessary to have the neck in the water while the body (the other significant buoyancy provider) is also in the water would dunk even more of the giraffe’s face in the water, almost certainly plunging the giraffe’s nostrils and mouth below the surface.

That’s pretty good money for doctors that are only working a 60 hour month. Compared to full time doctors, which supposedly average ~400k a year, that’s actually coming out better. Glassdoor, which is probably biased by who goes on there and puts in info, says the average is closer to 300k, which is then really close for someone working less than 50% of the ‘average’ amount of hours in a month.

If I were a doctor in tennessee, I’d probably consider it. I seem to recall that emergency medicine doctors moonlight quite a bit, so add in another 5-10 days working in the better paying hospitals near nashville and boost that ~200k to somewhere like 400-500k.

I know a vet who used to do the ‘relief shift’ thing, and he was pulling $200/hr. I would imagine a doctor can swing it as well. And yeah, if I even did that for two months, it would be life changing money for me.

While someone else already explained what was going on, as someone who HAS stood in the roadway on a rural highway to warn incoming drivers about a tree on the road, it is surprising how close you can get and not notice a giant tree fallen into the roadway.

Properly adjusted lights don’t illuminate things up high, and the grey/brown muck that is the road and the tree in the dark isn’t illuminated until it is way too late. Mind you, this was in an area where the only light was the moon and stars, so you aren’t going to be seeing much outside of your headlights because your eyes are adjusted to that little patch of yellow. The bit of reflective lighting down low just might help some folks.
