Having some distance while working on yourself is probably better. Maintaining friendships at least somewhat. Everybody needs and deserves human connection. If you believe you are toxic to other people and harm them, then limit the amount of time per person. But remember, it’s not only your responsibility, if they are bothered by your toxicity, then they also have a responsibility towards themselves. Do not make that decision for people, maybe you are not as toxic as you believe.
Being toxic is also not a permanent state of being. People change, and they do it all the time.
I have friends that struggle with mental issues, they can be too much sometimes. It is however always nice to spend a couple of hours here and there. Life is not black and white. You are not either toxic or not toxic. Most people can be pleasant for a couple of hours once in a while.
If you believe you are toxic, then fake it til you make it. Be fake positive and fake nice for an hour or two, after a while it will become second nature, and then it will become who you are. If you have views that you consider toxic, then challenge them. Use UnpopularOpinion or other forums to discuss then. If your views differ from most other people, then maybe it’s something you should challenge. Either you convince people or you are convinced.
If you realize you said or did something toxic, just apologize.
Just giving up is harmful towards yourself. You deserve happiness.
Hehe, I wasn’t serious. But I do think federation is a cool feature of the fediverse. Not only because of the decentralization
How do I delete someone elses post?
I think ignorance should excuse people in most cases. Being uneducated about something does not mean they have bad intentions or intend to hurt someone.
Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Of course there are cases where ignorance is unlikely, but in most cases we should accept that ignorance is a part of human nature and society.
People need education, time and to be taught stuff. I grew up without a lot of parental supervision and guidance. This left me ignorant and lacking a lot of skills.
I had to learn a lot as an adult and in most cases by myself. Society has a vast variety of human experiences and upbringing. Schools are lacking and not covering enough about politics, economy, history and society.
I believe we should assume ignorance and good intentions, even from people we assume are far gone into the wrong side of politics.
One of my core beliefs is that people can change, my life experience supports this.
I had a friend who voted for a conservative party in my country, that has now changed completly to the opposite side. I like to think I was a part of helping that transition, by being open, honest and non-judgemental. Also admitting your own mistakes or when you change your own opinion fosters a climate in which change is not damaging the reputational standing of a friend.
That being said, a person buying the cybertruck now, is not someone I would give the benefit of the doubt.
How can I forget? It had scary stories and memorable characters.
The barber that did not care about consent for instance, clearly drawing parallels to real life. That episode is chilling even as an adult.

4·9 months agoI often refer to my wife as my girlfriend. It’s cozy and it’s kinda like a very vanilla form of roleplay. “Remember when we were younger, and just met”-kinda thing.

10·9 months agoHaha, this is spot on. I don’t think I have a single photo of me and my best friends together the last 15 years. It’s just something we never do.

404media is great as always. Interesting comments about the legality of this.

27·10 months agoAnd another point, as a man a lot younger than say Salma Hayek. I’d happily be her young handsome piece of action. I would also get to be with an extremely attractive woman.
The same goes for these women and Leonardo Di Caprio. He is objectively an attractive man. It’s also bragging rights. I was in a relarionship with x-celeb. Of course many women dream of being with him, and of course a lot of them are gorgeous.
I think they are both having a great time, and see no reason to judge.
I fully agree let’s care about the things that actually matter and actually hurt people.
Contacts gives you full field of vision, and they don’t get dirty. If you are lucky you only have to take them off and on for switching once per month and can sleep with them. I am one of those, and can buy the cheapest contacts too.
In other words, always good vision, with full FOV
While this is probably not for me. I appreciate the diversity and creativity of humans.
