  • pacman is the best and I’ll stubbornly refuse to entertain any other opinion. It’s in my experience the least likely to just randomly rip the system to shreds. I don’t know if it has more through prechecks or what bit I’ve had debian and Fedora (apt and dnf) rip the system asunder trying to jump multiple major versions in an update of a system that hadn’t been online in a long time.

I don’t care if jumping multiple releases at once “isn’t supported” it shouldn’t be that frail and arch will happily update something many years behind as long as you update the keyring.

Even in the event your system somehow does get hosed you can fix almost everything by just chrooting in, grabbing the static pacman binary, and running “pacman -Qqn | pacman -S -” I’ve recovered systems that had the entire /bin wiped (lol oops moment with a script) and as far as i know apt and dnf have no equivalent easy redo all.

People shit on them because while there are people that actually use them for real work daily that’s like maybe if I’m being super generous 5% of the market of trucks. Even out in rural areas like I am where it’s over two and a half hours to the nearest grouping of buildings large enough to even pretend to be called the city the majority of the people out here with their big ass lifted trucks never take them off the pavement and never do any real work with them.

They are just driven around as status symbols and I’m tired of seeing them, the best part being that my little smart fortwo can literally off road better than most of these four wheel trucks out here thanks to it’s short wheelbase, and I have a variable suspension so I don’t even have to be permanently dumb lifted to do it

  • I mean there is the fact that having the shower running while you’re sitting there taking a shit is kind of a waste of water, disregarding pain for it there’s also just the waste in general. Drinkable water is actually becoming a lot more scarce than I think people realize.

That being said I have absolutely no right to say anything because I take like 15 to 20 minute showers when I could absolutely take shorter ones so shit away my friends

Oh yeah like I said I understand that it’s shockingly more expensive than it used to be or she even maybe should be. But I’ve heard people talking like they’re going to need to take out a mortgage on their house and they aren’t being sarcastic just to get eggs it just feels a bit strange how strong the reaction to the egg prices is. Meanwhile over the years we’ve let things like medicine and housing which feel like they are more important to then eggs Skyrocket in price and while we do complain about them it feels casual compared to how people are talking about eggs

Ok so, i understand that it’s way more than it used to be but… Is $10 for a dosen really THAT bad? Are People using eggs literally every meal or something? I LITERALLY heard someone complaining about this while grabbing some at costco. Like genuinely upset and acting like they can never have eggs again while they have a cart easily pushing $400 of stuff not all of which is food.

I feel like everyone is strangely focused on eggs when there are way worse things going through the roof
