I do this very often on Lemmy as well because I used to have trouble with the app I use (works great now) but when it first came out accidentally clicking the wrong button would sometimes crash it or knock me back to the page before or my home feed. Then I’d realize I lost 2 paragraphs of text I typed and I’d say well fuck if it’s long enough that you don’t want to find that exact comment again to respond to and type it over, it probably wasn’t worth typing anyways. (Which unfortunately decreases interactions for users on the site, which ultimately hurts how many active users we end up with.).

If someone calls the person they are going through a breakup with a self richeous dingbat who likes to tear down everyone around them in a private chat it’s not a nice thing to do. It also didn’t hurt that person until Derek brought it to their attention in an attempt to hurt the speaker while upsetting/hurting the person who was called names. Especially digging up things from years ago. These people aren’t running for office, they are kids dealing with life in a place of privacy. The number of people I’ve heard call soneone a little dicked asshole who isn’t good in bed is around 50. Never once would I think spreading that information to them or their friends group would be for the greater good. The person is hurt and lashing out. It’s often best to let them recover and sort out their own situation. If they were making plans to harm someone that’s another story, but that isn’t what happened here it appears.

Is the person who made the comments a narcissist, yes. Is the person who screen shorted it and shared it also a narcissist, absolutely.

To be more specific the first 100,000 isn’t taxed at 28%. The 44 to 100k range would be, but below that will be taxed at lower percentages. The first ~10k you make is taxed at 10%, and then it increases throughout.

That’s great and all, but you do realize that in the end that ends up being pro large corporations and limiting freedoms of the people. Cities and towns would be best built that way I agree but the chances that we can completely revoke capitalism is verryyy slim. In such every convenient/grocery store in those neighborhoods would be bought up by money and reduce prices to run out small owners. People not being able to grow their own food or raise their own chickens reduces ones ability to feed themselves independently. Communal neighborhood farms are an alternative which I have seen before, but they are rare and require space as well

.25 acres? Can we up that to at least an acre. I need a place for my chickens to roam and to plant my gardens, and I prefer to have a fire pit with outdoor patio furniture and a grill. Many places an acre is the standard plot size. Not good for everyone, but preferred by many

Edit: for info, Biden had almost $4 million more votes in 2020 than Trump in 2024 while the population grew by 6 million people. Meaning as much as the GOP is selling that Trump did historic things in voting, Biden was vastly more popular than Trump

Seriously, the government knows how old you are. Birth certificates, IDs, taxes, insurance, school requirements, requirement to sign up for the draft if you are a man by 18. They know where you live and how to find you. Most people down to a ~10 meter radius at all times unless you don’t have your phone on you. Everyone should be automatically registered for presidential & VP voting. If you have an ID then they recorded your address to acquire the ID. You should be automatically assigned to that addresses precinct/district/county/state/federal officials that come from that area. If you do not have an ID, you should be able to go online or in person to submit a proof of address for free. If a person votes twice, it should flag the federal government for having 2 votes from the same individual, the state, county, district and precinct without an issue. All precincts have cameras and you aren’t allowed to wear face coverings (hair allowed) when voting. This means when you receive a ballot there wil be a recording of you being present. If the person attempts votes twice, they can confirm if it was the same person or if someone was trying to vote in their place.

Up the voter fraud charge to minimum 10 years in prison unless coerced and fully cooperate in apprehending whomever did such; who should be charged with the equivalent of treason. (Life in prison, or the death penalty… Not my personal choice, that’s just the penalty for treason federally).
