It might be important, but also inefficient and genuinely terrible to live through for many people. I don’t understand how some people can look back fondly of school, mine was fucking awful.

In my 5 years at secondary school in the UK, 2 teachers arrested for rape of a student, one disappeared with no statement given after getting into a fist fight with a student and teachers looking the other way at violence between kids was a daily occurrence. Often went home with bruises and no one cared, told our head of year before and he blamed me for it, apparently climbing a tree means I deserve to be thrown into a wall and pushed into a main road.

I don’t need to “improve myself” at every task I ever take. Rather save the time and then chill on the beach with a pint instead.

You don’t need to understand the binary level to make a web page though. At some point you probably don’t need more than a basic awareness of the processes a few levels above/below what you will be using.

Pretty much how I use it. Unimportant waste of time tasks like forms from HR and mandatory “anonymous” surveys. Refuse to do it until told directly and then get AI to write the most inoffensive and meaningless corporate bullshit.

Of course not having to do the task at all would be a more efficient use of my time but we get ignored when we say these forms are pointless. Not heard any one day anything positive about them in over a year.

I have played a couple when someone has brought a switch over. They are ok but you can fuck off if you think I would pay £90 on it. Even £30 and I would look at something else.

More likely to get a steam deck instead. There are plenty of incredibly high quality games there that cost so much less. Just don’t buy games on their launch week to avoid the crap. Wait until it’s well reviewed and been out for a while.

I have listened to a cassette but not a CD. It was mainly stories when I was young. By the time I was had any interest in music, limewire existed. Once limewire died I downloaded from youtube instead.

Edit: So looked it up and apparently CDs had been around for ages, but my parents bought me stuff on cassettes instead. Maybe it was second hand.

Recently saw that young people in the UK are more concerned with money and work than culture war. So I am glad it’s just the media trying to push bullshit that people don’t actually care about much.
