You talked about needing consequences so that people make more informed decisions. I was trying to illustrate to you how the current path of consequences is built to dismantle informed decisions.

There are millions of Americans being asked “Regretting your choices yet???” and answering “wdym? Everything is fine. You read too much of the news.”

So if your motivation for accelerationism is spite and anger, nothing to criticize. But if you’re in favor of the harm caused because you think it will lead to people changing their minds anytime soon, you are grossly misreading the current path.

That’s where you messed up. The current administration of chaos is extremely efficient at putting the horrors outside of people’s direct vision. Comparatively, very few people are going to arrive home to find their neighbor on fire and feel compelled to act.

Better social safety nets and better education can put people in stable enough circumstances they can become socially aware of problems beyond themselves. By that point they don’t even need to be pushed into it. And Democrats - not all of them but plenty of them - have championed those policies. But they’ve been thoroughly crushed now by “both sides” mentality because they don’t have a violent expulsion reaction to being crushed by accelerationism.

You could also make this point with illegal immigrants.

With ICE simply looking for “Anyone they can excuse grabbing”, all violent/gang-affiliated immigrants have to do is exercise basic caution, and ICE will miss them completely. If they have enemies, or witnesses in immigrant communities that could testify against them, all they have to do is leave ICE a tip against that person.

The increasing size of American cars has done a lot of damage to our roads. They’re less safe for the roads, for pedestrians, and even sometimes for the occupants.

Tangentially, thanks to red light structure in the city, I often make just as much forward progress as the cars around me on my bike.

I had a guy in my Discord following some insane moon logic about how ranked choice voting has some concerns because people could “tactically put their preferred option second to game the system”. He tried about five times and still could not convince us that water is dry.

They could also tie it to occupancy. If a functional residence goes more than half the year without someone living in it, property tax is quintupled.

There’s danger to writing such a law correctly, unfortunately. I recall something in Ecuador where people were leaving extensions to their home just barely unfinished so that they could avoid certain residence laws until they had a buyer.

Well, hunting involves the whole orange vests, ensuring legal permission, stalking an animal, etc. The idea would be if this world has hunters, any of them certified as a witness can get their colleagues a medallion without going the whole chicken route.

But obviously, most people who eat meat today don’t hunt. So they would need to go through the experience of taking life once before reaping the benefit.

Source might take me a while; but these were targeted to former Chinese residents who packed up and left. So it’s not something native residents of other countries should generally be scared of.

Living in a sanctuary city, plenty of people around me are Chinese. I’ve also been enjoying the current state of Chinese gaming. Of course…I play those games on devices I can sandbox.

Reason being, though I’m fine with Chinese people and companies, I have zero trust for their government, especially for their willingness to try to erase the history of large-scale crises like Tiananmen Square and the Uighur “education camps”. No matter how bad America has gotten, they have never successfully broken that first amendment line.

Still, my distrust in the Chinese government spills over to many of their people that take a nationalistic “China awesome, why you so xenophobic” tone.

Recently, the new Indiana Jones game highlighted Japan’s aerial bombardment of Shanghai before WW2. It was a nice reminder to me that Japan is hardly an innocent nation, no matter how much they’re praised for today.

The Yakuza games also have some pretty good focus on how they treat the homeless, including demographics of Chinese and Korean immigrants that get marginalized.

The electronics bit is where I’m concerned, in part because their aggression is not limited to government, but also private citizens. They’ve previously attempted to repatriate immigrants via coercion and forced abductions.

I invented a fictional society for stories in which you are allowed to buy and consume meat, but only if you have a “carnivore’s medallion”. The only way to obtain one is to have witnesses observe you personally slaughter a living being (eg, a chicken) with no assistance.

Ideologically, seems like a good way to put friction on meat obsessions and get people to think about it.

That’s basically all it is: Media getting “too big to fail” and then neutering its writing quality by committee. It tries to tell socially progressive stories at the same time, so people associate the two.

A streamer pointed out the cognitive dissonance people have, when “anti-woke” people played Baldur’s Gate 3. It was gender expressive and diverse…but it was also GOOD writing. So they decided it was”wasn’t woke”.

It’s weird and unrealistic to fight armies, but I like when a game gives you more enemies, or more aggressive enemies, rather than bullet sponges. One hit kills are just so satisfying. Hitting an enemy perfectly in the head with a sniper rifle and getting nothing, then needing to rechamber, makes you wonder why you get up in the morning.
