Assuming he didn’t wake up in a random sewer next to some dolls…
I agree there isn’t an easy answer, I just don’t think giving them power over the words is actually helping anyone, because it does turn into the SJW situation like you pointed out.
Humungus Wut intensifies
It devolved into people MAKING problems were there wasn’t actually one by assuming negative intent.
Yeah right on!
I am talking more generally, not just you in this instance.
We shouldn’t keep seeding ground to fascists over which words are “theirs” a simple and inconsequential example is Pepe the frog, there is nothing inherently racist about it and there are hordes of wholesome pepe memes, but someone decided that because it also gets coopted by fascists and racists that now pepe is actually a symbol for racism.
This is idiotic that we are HANDING bad actors the right to own words and ideas by self policing.
I did this in my younger years and the cars I got always had some hidden fucked up problem.
The most notable was cemented in spark plugs, rip that Honda Civic I drove it till it couldn’t hold on anymore lmao it ended up sitting for a long while then someone stole the catalytic converter lmao
How about we just stop letting bigots have every fucking word and don’t assume negative qualities about people from an insignificant distinction, cultures are different and just assuming someone is a bigot because they used the word female in a proper context is absolutely idiotic and counter productive to actually fighting real bigotry
I’d imagine lower power laptop? Though I’m using KDE on a laptop from 2012 and it works fine
1, I have one of them branded from my prior work, it’s an excellent pencil.
They’re called communities here BTW, that’s why the Url is /c/
I do think their point is to not give an inch when fighting for inclusivity
I use qbittorent through Mullvad using Gluetun as qbt is running in docker.
DHT and PEX don’t seem to work though, I did brief research and it seemed related to mullvad no longer allowing port forwarding? I don’t know enough about how it works but I tried messing with it for several hours a couple days ago to no avail, only trackers appear to work for connecting to other peers.
On a headless Ubuntu LXC running in proxmox, I just access the qbt interface via its Web portal.
More blue then green, my fav color teal :)
Idk man, I’m not really interested in sounds I don’t understand constantly going while I’m reading text and trying to watch the show itself at the same time, if you want to know what is being said you have to be actively looking at the screen. It can be fun sometimes and I have watched whole shows in sub like eyeshield, mob psycho, one punch man, etc and I will admit my wife and I still quote the over the top Japanese voice actors fondly :P but for casual viewing… Dub is simply more convenient and less stressful.
I would be more surprised if 12% of “tech workers” know what Linux is at all.
Fwiw: I work in a call center as basically a more knowledgeable tech for our client facing team to rely on for help and only about 1% of them have any familiarity with Linux in the slightest.
I wonder about the framing of this question, like another comment mentioned, it’s kinda like evolution where MacOS and Linux have a common ancestor, I could see the wording throwing people off.
“Is MacOS based on linux” seems to be the wording used?
I’d bet less would fall for, “Is MacOS a Linux distribution?”
Edit: Ha some people in the comments had similar thoughts, in addition to Linux and Unix being nearly synonymous to all but those who are very into that kind of thing.
Edit again, if anyone else is curious https://youtu.be/jowCUo_UGts
I currently use Bazzite on my old laptop, just wanted to try out immutable distros and I like to stream games from my rig to it sometimes so completely functional steam was a nice addition. Plus learning about flatpaks and app images over installed packages has been interesting.
Then on my servers Debian/Proxmox and usually Ubuntu server in LXCs for more updated APTs then Debian, though I mostly run docker for my web apps rather then native APTs.
I work for a company that has a java program that functions on Linux but is nowhere near the level of support provided for mac/Windows, so I’m the Linux guy for our dept and when a customer is running into issues on a distro I’ll spin up a vm on my homelab and see if I can rum through an install and get it functional.
So far the only one I literally couldn’t get installed was Slackware lol I even figured out how to get it functional in ChromeOSes Linux subsystem.
