Purposefully going out of your way to build relationships with people with personality disorders will make your life more difficult than life already is. Surround yourself with positive people and relative mental wellness whenever possible. I’m not advocatimg for actively shunning anyone. We all have choices to make about relationships. This recommendation comes from experience. Do what you will.

Are you speaking from direct experience? Where did you end up and how? Fascism is a growing trend. America has changed pretty significantly, but retreating seems like it could get a bit cat and mouse with the direction other nations are also headed.

As much as people are criticizing the proposed changes to this concept in the US, yes, this is true. In many countries that are arguably more free and democratic than the US even, this is not the way citizenship works and the post comes off as uninformed.
