The media portrayal of pirates is entirely fictional.

Absence of rulers not the absence of rules. Anarchy is the opposite of Hierarchy.

The rules are simply mutually agreed upon arrangements between independent entities, with no one singular entity being able to exert controlling authority over any other.

There is plenty of literature about what Anarchy is as a political system. There are even different subsets of organizational structures, such as syndicalism, but they are all based upon a horizontal structure of authority where power is derived from the bottom up rather than from the top down.

It is the showing of adoration or, more specifically, people who romanticize our suffering; those who try to reassure us that we are still “beautiful/handsome/desirable” while we are at our lowest, haven’t taken care of our hygiene in weeks, and look like a disheveled mess of our former selves. It comes off as patronizing. Then there are the ones who think we are some cliche emo from TV, as if our suffering is an aesthetic choice rather than a genuine breakdown of our ability to care for ourselves.

Dude spent his entire life creating this world to play a game with his friends– it was his baby. They finally get to share that experience with the world through a video game where their own characters make appearances.

Only for the entire “rights” to that world ripped away from him because some shitty company has papers saying he can’t use it anymore.

At least one of the group is making a spinoff but I hear there is still some controversy because of a schism in the group. The one making it was a player but the DM who created the world and stories isn’t part of the new project for a reason I do not remember.

Would be even nicer if we didn’t have an economy that arbitrarily restricted access to resources based on imaginary tokens of perceived value so that people could create quality works without needing to fulfil an arbitrary profit incentive.

Well, considering “wanting to get paid” is the reason AAA gaming has gone to utter ass over the course of the last two decades ^(I legit cannot believe that Horse Amor, the first major, cosmetic-only microtransaction, was 2006, spelling the beginning of the end for AAA gaming…)^ I believe that having Indies be dominated by people who are in it for the sake of making something great instead of just getting paid is why they are having a boom in quality products.

Oh bruh you unlocked a trove of memory about the “will-they-wont-they” arguments in the TLoK fandom. I remember people saying it was a marketing strategy to get people talking about the show more, creating artificial drama, back when people still thought corporations actually cared about LGBT+.
