Doubtful. Rare situations exist, of course, but this post has no real objective, so best to assume it’s fake.

3·2 months agoThey find it entertaining. Sad, maybe, because OP didn’t bother to use their brain for a few seconds.
Have you looked up sexual assault or rape rates in your community or country? It is definitely a high enough number to scare a normal person. Probably many of those crimes are repeat offenders, but that doesn’t help the victims.
There’s another question that I don’t think you can answer. How often do women close to you talk about this subject? And if they never have, then maybe there’s a good reason for it. Because we can find the above data and we know that people around us have gone through some horrible stuff.
I’m not sure who’s she targeting because I know a lot of guys who would love to have birth control pills.

6·2 months agoIt’s really interesting that I agree with you, but so many people insist that they’re new and fancy tools are somehow making their lives significantly better. And obviously it’s an opinion question, it’s not like they’re lying, but I just don’t see the value that many of them do.
Yeah, that’s exactly how it works. Long live the Pirate Bay.
That’s basically untrue. If a building is rotten and full of mold, then it might have to be torn down before anything new could be created. Then it might have negative value, but the property itself could still have a lot of value.
So it sounds like your insurance company is trying to game the system. This isn’t necessarily a problem with insurance as a concept, it’s just something that happens because private companies are greedy m************.

9·3 months agoFuck those racist pieces of shit. But it’ll be good target practice.
Yeah except it only rusts instantly if you royally fucked up lol. This is not rocket science. It’s not even slightly challenging. A six year old can do it.
*super easy to clean … but it doesn’t look clean, but it is.
I say get it while you can, you don’t turn your back on love, no no no. -Janis Joplin
The Pirate Bay will always be with us.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Hmm this "unisex" bathroom seems biased...
91·3 months agoThis is all personal preference. There is no issue to discuss here.
You don’t actually need “perfect” security in the future, any more than you did in the past. Windows was not perfect, right? So stop looking for perfection. Instead, look for “good enough for 99.9% of the world”. And you can get that with many of the popular Linux distributions.
Basically, install a popular distro, and keep your software to whatever is in the package manager. Don’t install random shit manually. Don’t download random software from random websites. Don’t fuck with security settings unless you read up on the topic very thoroughly. Then you’ll be fine.
Visiting dodgy websites in itself isn’t as risky as you make it out to be. There are very few exploits in an updated version of Chrome or Firefox that would compromise your machine.

201·3 months agoThe “nearby woods” have been secured, lol. Yeah, you do that. Watch out for the deer and bears and shit.
It’s always interesting when they use expressions like, god-given rights. That’s not how it works. A right, in the US, is a privilege that has stronger legal protections. That’s all. It’s definitely not given by anyone other than the US government.

I love the “but I don’t use that so I shouldn’t pay for it” argument. Like come on, my dude, that’s what a society is about. If you don’t want to live in society, move to Siberia.
