You’ve never seen the lists then, this is pretty much how they tend to look

51·1 month agoGreat episode, its dubbed now, up to 150 with 150-200 finished. Gintama suprisingly works well with a dub, imo the sub didnt get good til around episode 80 for me while the dub gets good earlier by around episode 30, with some decent episodes before it. The localization helps and gintama is a better show when you dont have to look at the screen 24/7 imo, very dialouge heavy, almost feels like watching a podcast. 100-150 were all really solid for dubs, felt like theybhit their stride.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Wikipeter founded the website in 1993 when he wanted to know more about model trains without having to visit the library
1·1 month agoHe was working on the ship and continued to work on ships after btw, not immigrating through the ship, think he was already a us citizen by that point, man died like a year ago so I can’t really ask him for clarity.

1·1 month agoMaybe im not looking hard enough but youd think the country that trained the operation and has the operation (blue star) named after their flag would pop up more in the article.
Sidenote my grandpa left india shortly after that time working on a ship and was lost at sea for a bit. He was saved by an isdf vessel and they were apparently nice and bought him a first class ticket on the plane to his destination in america. Just a nice reminder that not all people anywhere are bad, just like america might seem like a hellscape but the average person here isn’t the vocal maga person you see online, they just clock in. We are sikh tho not muslim so maybe that would’ve had a different result.

4·1 month agoYou know what, I was gonna agree because last time I was googling some sikh history as a sikh it seemed to be driding the indian governement but looking at the articles now it has correct casualty estimates. I swear last time I looked it was framed like the government estimate for casualties at 83 killed 900 injured was accurate, now it frames it like how every news article not on wikipedia did with 10k deaths being the likely estimate.
I see no mention of israel tho, which is odd since operation blue star was an israeli trained operation, had the isreali flag as the symbol and name lol. I can’t find the older article from india celebrating the anniversary of them working together, training soldiers to massacre civilians, but its out there somewhere, times india 1990s or 2000s.

7·1 month agoIs there a good linux with tech support for less technically inclined individuals? Like ppl just call windows support when they have issues or know they can contact hp, dell, etc. Would they even get help using linux?

1·1 month agoOn screen keyboard extension works well for setting different layouts and making your own if you want. Kde is based around being able to right click? Gnome works well with left clicks (standard touch input) alone.

1·1 month agoGnome, extensions make it your way, on touchscreen I like arcmenu with a grid layout, and my dash on the left, always visible and large, easy to tap. I did not like kde with touchscreen, gnome is pretty much setup for it as is and you don’t need extensions, just makes It nicer.
Gnome control center is great, standard for touch devices, so you’re already used to it. Everythings a bit big and minimal while kde always has more going on on the page and is ideal for mouse use imo.
I just blocked 3 different ppl for posting blurry old low effort reposts, is this new? I haven’t really actively browsed lemmy in a month or two, didn’t seem this bad before
(They had at least a post an hour)
This user spams a lot, I kinda prefer empty lemmy to the same mfs spamming low effort facebook posts
I web browse and use blender , all I lost eas the pirated software I barely touched and I guess I wasted 6monthd learning houdini, but it transferrs to blender (its paid and hard to pirate on linux)
I problem solved and tinkered all day everyday on windows, linux just worked and used less ram, I immediately noticed I had many more tabs open and no lag
they convinced a whole new gen of teens that vaping is worse than cigs they are literally fine with ppl smoking and go at least you arent vaping
What even is reddit humor, reddit humor to me is narwhals and whatever wholesome sht you think lemmy is about, dorky nerdy cringe sht, this is more twitter humor
What does that even mean, I say that ironically sometimes, but I think some ppl genuinely seem to think of reddit as some other culture, maybe it’s just the same ppl being extra polite because they got banned and are scared of it happening again rather than them actually thinking diffferently

Linux@lemmy.ml•What’s a graphical piece of software you wish existed or was better?
1·2 months agoKvm/libvirt windows vm maybe? It opens windows apps as linux apps, issue comes with using gpu but toonboom seems cpu and ram intensive?
You would just set it up normally in the vm then open the app through your start menu as you would normally.
