It’s the classic gender-essentialist philosophy without the homophobia that often accompanies it. Men and women are fundamentally different and can’t get along, so gay people must have it good, because they can be friends AND attracted to each other.
That doesn’t really track with most of the lesbian relationships I’ve been aware of.
